Brand: messaging, identity & guidelines
Web: design & development
CMS: Content Management System
Site: www.lansdownearts.org
The process began with an in-depth consultation with the Lansdowne Arts team to understand their mission, target audience, and vision for the new website. We discussed their design preferences, desired features, and long-term goals, ensuring that the final product would serve as both a functional hub for visitors and a visually engaging representation of the organization. I collected existing branding materials, including the logo, color palette, and typography guidelines, to maintain visual consistency across all pages.
Once the vision was established, I developed a sitemap to outline the site’s structure and navigation flow. This helped define the hierarchy of key pages such as Home, About, Events, Gallery, and Contact. I then researched and selected a responsive, customizable Drupal theme that matched their design requirements. With the hosting environment ready, I installed Drupal, configured the core settings such as permalink structure and time zone, and activated the chosen theme. To extend the site’s functionality, I installed essential plugins for SEO optimization, event management, image galleries, contact forms, and security. Using the Drupal theme settings, I adapted the design to reflect Lansdowne Arts’ branding. The homepage was designed to immediately engage visitors, featuring upcoming events, highlighted artworks, and key announcements in an attractive layout. Interior pages were built with a consistent design approach, ensuring readability, accessibility, and cohesive styling throughout the site.
Special attention was given to the Events page, which was powered by an event calendar plugin, allowing the team to easily manage and display upcoming exhibitions, performances, and community programs. All images were optimized for web performance, ensuring fast load times without compromising quality. SEO best practices were applied site-wide, including optimized titles, meta descriptions, and alt text for all media.
Once the core build was complete, I conducted thorough testing across devices and browsers to ensure full responsiveness and functionality. Google Analytics and Search Console were integrated for performance monitoring and search visibility tracking. Before launch, I provided training for the Lansdowne Arts team, equipping them with the knowledge to update content, manage events, and maintain media through the Drupal dashboard.
Finally, the website was launched by connecting the domain to the live hosting server and performing final checks to verify all links, images, and features were functioning properly. Post-launch, I implemented a maintenance plan that included regular backups, plugin and theme updates, and security monitoring to ensure the site’s long-term stability and performance.
